چکیده
Objective Many industries struggle with training dynamic risk assessment, and how to bridge the gap between safety behavior in real life scenarios. In this article, we focus on assessment during a mooring operation investigate potential value of using immersive virtual reality (VR) simulations compared standard procedures an international maritime organization. Methods pilot study, two ways implementing VR simulation (stand-alone or post-simulation reflection) manual personal trainer condition between-subjects design 86 students school. Based results stand-alone non-Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic (WEIRD) sample 28 seafarers from Kiribati Islands at Results The group reported significantly higher perceived enjoyment (d = 1.28), intrinsic motivation 0.96), learning 0.90), behavioral change 0.88), lower extraneous cognitive load 0.82) group, but differences self-efficacy, attitudes were not significant. Discussion support train that are difficult world suggest technologies can be useful for providing just time anywhere, anytime, global market where employees increasingly cross-cultural dislocated.

Virtual Reality Based Training for Industry, a Cognitive Process Approach
Simulation and Virtual Reality (VR) have been extensively used in many industries, where the success of the initiative has been reliant on technology, training objective and correctly set expectations. Early in VR’s use, success was assured with huge budgets, for instance the military and aerospace. Later on in its use, cheap VR failed because the technology was lacking fidelity, expectations w...

Developing, testing and operating complex machinery and repairing it under time pressure if it breaks down are some of the new skills professionals in many occupations have to learn as quickly as possible. Actions on machinery and plants are trained in individual lessons on an immersive virtual model. Lessons can be repeated as often as desired and independent of the real machinery’s temporal a...

The need for improved worker safety training programmes, as a means to reduce accidents in South African mines, is being emphasized by all industry stakeholders and driven by legislation1. Accident statistics (cf. Table I) highlight the need to address falls of ground as the primary safety hazard in underground (gold) mining operations2. The high incidence of accidents and fatalities in the Sou...

This paper presents how the Virtual Reality (VR) technology and Computer Graphics (CG) is used nowadays by industry to reduce productions costs, minimize learning curve and eliminates hazard situations. Few examples of procedural training and VR simulators are being presented, as well as the usage of CG for military training and troops support.
متن کاملVirtual Reality in Surgical Training
Virtual reality promises to change the world of surgical training and practice. Just as flight simulators revolutionized pilot training, human simulators will become the medical classrooms of the future. Surgeons will be able to train on simulated human models, perfecting their techniques without even entering an operating room. Recent advances in computer technology have placed these exciting ...
